Girl Scout Badge Workshop at the Pueblo River Campus!
Program geared toward 2nd and 3rd grades (around ages 7–9)
Explore your Pueblo River Campus while learning all about BUGS with an emphasis on aquatic macroinvertebrates aka water bugs in their habitat! Discover the tiny creatures that live in the Arkansas River! This is not a drop off program. All Girl Scouts must attend with her parent, guardian, or troop leader. Girl to adult ratios must be met.
Get some great photos along the way! Leave foot prints and take only pictures…

Our Environmental Educators will lead you through all 5 steps of the Bugs Badge:
1. Bug Poster
2. Bug Craft
3. Observe Bugs in Action
4. Discover Bug Homes
5. Bug Exploration Hike - Please meet at the deck in front of the main building.
- We will be hiking so please come prepared in good sturdy tennis shoes.
Check the weather and dress accordingly.
Additional Notes:
- Please make sure you have a water bottle and a snack.
- A minimum of 5 participants is required to run program
- A maximum of 15 participants
- Note that this is a non-smoking program.
- *All our hikes are moderate in terms of difficultly, with areas of rocky uneven terrain.
- We encourage you to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the River Campus public picnic areas after program.
