Introduction to Backpacking Overnight:

Please note that this registration link is for students, teachers and designated chaperones of the Boys & Girls Club Overnight Trip.
Please make sure EVERY participant staying overnight registers so we know dietary restrictions etc.

Please note registration CLOSES July 10 , 2026 at 4PM!

PLAN AHEAD & PREPARE MEETING: – Please plan to attend this meeting. We will be checking out gear and going over very important details so your child is best prepared for this trip.

Location: PAA Clubhouse (29 Lehigh Ave, Pueblo, CO 81005)

 

Day 1 (July 16 ) will begin promptly when the van arrives around 12pm.

Day 2 (July 17) programming will end at approximately 12pm

Please remember that this is an overnight and so your student will need to pack extra.

After registration you will receive an additional email with an attached letter and checklist, please notify NWDC at programs@hikeandlearn.org if you did not receive the attachments.

Join us for an unforgettable outdoor overnight adventure! Campers will explore the basics of backpacking, hiking, and Leave No Trace principles while building teamwork, confidence, and a deeper connection to nature — all while sleeping under the stars.

What’s Included:
We provide backpacking equipment, tents, sleeping bags, meals, snacks, cooking gear, flashlights, and more. You’ll only need to pack a few personal items — check the packing list for details.

What to Expect:

  • A rustic, off-grid camping experience (no electricity or showers)

  • Safe, supportive environment led by trained staff

  • Opportunities to unplug, connect, and explore

  • Limited cell service – contact NWDC’s main office if needed

Please Note: Overnight tent camping is not typically allowed in Pueblo Mountain Park. This special overnight experience is made possible through a unique partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs and NWDC, with special permission to camp in the park.
