Mark Yaeger

Mark Yaeger is an avid birder and often guides birding hikes in the Pueblo area. Mark’s knowledge of butterflies rivals his knowledge of birds and he brings this knowledge to the Mountain Park Campus each summer for our Annual Butterfly Count. Mark, known as Radeaux, is also a gifted artist who paints the fauna of his native Colorado.  His life sized images of birds and other animals are not merely idealized illustrations but explore the patterning and geometrics found in nature.  Spatial relationships and comparison to stylized depictions of nature from various cultures are also part of this art.  It is a style that is unique to Radeaux, a combination of detail and restraint, repetition and rhythm. A veteran of many art exhibits, Radeaux has provided illustrations for a variety of publications.  He painted the covers and created all the illustrations for the Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas.
